Privacy Policy

PDFlash ("we", "us", or "our") operates the PDFlash web application. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What we collect

• PDF content. When you upload a PDF, the text is sent to OpenAI's API to generate your study material. We do not store the PDF or its text on our servers.
• Email address. If you choose to subscribe, your email is collected at checkout and processed by Paddle (our payment provider).
• Usage counter. We store a generation count in your browser's localStorage to enforce the free tier limit. No account is created and nothing is sent to our servers for this.
• Basic analytics. We may collect anonymised usage data (page views, feature usage) via privacy-respecting analytics. No personal identifiers are linked to this data.

How we use your data

• To generate study material from your uploaded PDF using the OpenAI API.
• To process and manage your subscription via Paddle.
• To improve the product based on anonymised usage patterns.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your PDF content to train AI models.

Third-party services

• OpenAI. PDF text is processed via OpenAI's API. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
• Paddle. Subscription payments are processed by Paddle.com, a merchant of record. See Paddle's privacy policy.

Data retention

We do not store your PDF content. Email addresses held by Paddle are subject to Paddle's retention policies. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@studyflow.com.

Cookies

We use localStorage (not cookies) to store your free-tier usage count locally in your browser. No tracking cookies are set by PDFlash directly. Paddle may set cookies as part of the checkout process.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.
